Market Discovery

Filtered Search

Users are able to pinpoint what kind of market they're looking to find through venue types, accommodations, and more.

Saved Markets

Users can "star" specific markets, saving it to their profile for future use.

Community Connection

Reviews

Any user can leave reviews on vendor profiles, which contributes to personal connections and boosts their businesses. Top rated vendors are featured on the app's home page.

Sharing and Caring

Tagging

Tags allow posts to reach the right audience,  decreasing competition in social sharing.

Market Identification

Vendor posts are specifically shared to market pages, increasing visibility to audiences that may have shopped in-person or may want to visit the vendor.

Vendors Only Features

Messaging

In-app messaging allows vendors to find eachother before the market even happens, and build meaningful connections that can turn into business opportunities.

The problem

Local business owners, farmers, and other vendors alike rely on their product sales—it is very often their main income. But COVID-19 and global social media selling have made it increasingly difficult for local vendors to get their name out.

Interface Development

Vendorlea has market and vendor discovery at the forefront: with both kinds of pages containing market schedules, posts, and reviews. I began sketching typical user task flows with community connection and vendor reach in mind. Then, I used these sketches to construct a high-level information architecture.

Wireframes

Hand sketches, Ai, and Figma wireframes were created to explore page content organization and hierarchy before exploring stylization. This phase, I focused on layout and usability heuristics such as consistency and user control and freedom.

Task 1  Find nearby markets through a map view, and filter by tags to discover a market.

Task 2  Go to a vendor profile and leave a review.

Task 3 As a vendor, create, preview, and share a post for an upcoming market

Peer Sketches   I conducted a wireframe co-design session with my classmates. Their work introduced different methods of organizing information and important actions to add such as user ability to "save" markets and vendors.

Design System

I created two different visual styles and applied them to the wireframes: Nourish and Fresh. I invited peers to provide feedback on the Figma file, and they favored Fresh for its clarity, welcoming tone, and exciting colors. With adjustment, this evolved into the final style for Vendorlea.
