A new age
TITLE mag was passed down to my care for it's seventh issue, and I had big shoes to fill. Over the last few years, we took TITLE from a college club to a major collective of creatives across many time-zones, working together to push creative bounds and share skills. Then began Issue 007: inspired by a theme of subversion, to continue to break barriers and try new things, flipping the concept of a 21st century magazine on its head.

Visual Identity
Issue 007 is all about tactile, hands on creation and punk influence. From the beginning, staff were encouraged to try different methods and get back to working with our hands. In design and graphics, that meant using letraset rub-off type, cutting letters out of paper, collaging images, and so much more. We started with a mini-zine workshop to learn techniques and implemented those into the visual identity and throughout the project work.

Publication
The final print issue sit at exactly 200 pages, with 28 unique team projects. We also released a Digital Extended Edition with extensions of multiple print editorials.

Promo
The focus of Issue 007 promotion was bold, eye-catching videos and building connection through personal takeovers and in-depth behind the scenes.
Staff Takeovers
It's an exclusive club
Inspired by Keith Haring and other artists made-up membership cards, TITLE had our own silly exclusive IDs for takeovers.
A more personal 'gram
Our Instagram had a history of becoming sterile with lots of perfectly designed graphics, especially with takeovers. Now, this physical element meant each staff member personally filled the ID out, glued their picture on, and snapped a photo of it in their environment. These personal images increased our engagement while teasing the theme.

Beyond the mag
Extending the theme past the publication itself garnered opportunity for our supporters to get tactile and subversive. There's a sticker sheet paralleling the mag's end pages, so anyone can make their own face features combo. Then, we designed tattoos based off of every project in the mag, and made a temporary tattoo sheet with it. Lastly, we organized one-of-a-kind, screenprinted secondhand merch. These all came to life at the launch party, where we sold merch, organized interactive stations to interact with the mag and print package, and displayed custom video graphics on the dance floor.
